About

Translational scientist focused on gynecologic health

I'm a translational scientist in the Cancer Research Program at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and Assistant Professor in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Ottawa. My lab focuses on gynecologic diseases—ovarian cancer, endometriosis, and related conditions—using genomics to understand their biology and develop better approaches for prevention, detection, and treatment.

Our work addresses several critical challenges: Why do some ovarian cancers resist therapy while others respond? Can we develop molecular diagnostics that improve how we detect and manage endometriosis? How can we better characterize rare disease subtypes to identify new therapeutic targets? These questions drive our research program and shape our collaborations—both with clinical partners here at The Ottawa Hospital and with research groups around the world.

We approach these problems using single-cell and spatial genomics—technologies that let us study thousands of individual cells within their native tissue context. This resolution reveals how tumors evolve, how cells adapt to treatment, and how the tissue microenvironment shapes disease progression. By combining computational analysis with experimental biology, we aim to turn these insights into clinical impact.
